AI Mentoring 1:1
55 minutes of sparring with an Interim CTO.
A sparring session with an ex-CTO of Warner Music and BBC for people who work with AI today and need an independent second opinion — from someone who has seen it from both sides, as a CTO and as a mentor.
No prepared slide deck. No introductory course. Just your specific question and 25 years of my experience in IT.
Who it's for
Where mentoring makes sense
CEOs / Founders
You don't have a senior tech partner in-house — or you do and you want an outside opinion. You're facing a decision where you need a perspective that isn't your internal team or your vendors.
Tech Leads & CTOs
You're sitting on a concrete tech decision (vendor selection, AI roadmap, hire/no-hire, architecture) and you want a second pair of eyes from someone who has already walked that path.
Developers & Freelancers
You work with AI daily and want to level up your practice — without trial-and-erroring the workflow alone, and without sitting through a beginner course.
What we can talk about
Open agenda, your topic
Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Windsurf — what to pick when, when they replace humans, when they help them, and where they quietly hurt you without you noticing.
Vendor selection, architecture choices, hire/no-hire, technical due diligence. What I'd do and why — without selling you anything.
How to start with AI in a company, what not to start with, how to measure impact, where the unused potential sits, and where money is most likely to be wasted.
Where AI accelerates your team, where it quietly creates workslop, how to tell the difference — and how to break the cycle where AI just doesn't seem to work.
Code review, debugging a nasty bug, a decision at a fork in the road. Screen sharing welcome — usually faster than describing in words.
Anything that falls inside 25 years of my IT experience — from team leadership through architecture to business decisions at the tech/product intersection.
How it works
Three steps, no corporate nonsense
Book and pay
Pick a slot in the calendar and pay €200 by card. You'll fill in a short intake form with your main question so I arrive prepared, instead of spending the first 15 minutes collecting context.
55 minutes on a video call
Google Meet, no prepared content from my side. We open your question, share screens where it helps, and dig in. I record the call for you.
Recording within 24 hours
You get a link to the recording so you can revisit the discussion or share it with your team. If something surfaced that deserves a follow-up, I'll reach out unprompted.
Who's on the other side
Jiří George Dolejš
25 years in IT. 5 years as CTO in Manchester (clients: Warner Music, BBC, Madonna). Since 2023 I've been deploying AI into companies and helping technical teams change the way they think about their work.
I'm not a vendor or an affiliate — you pay me directly for mentoring, which means I tell you what I'd do, not what someone is paying me to recommend. I regularly speak at conferences (Project Restart, Vibe Coders Prague, AI Monday), write a blog, and co-author an online course with 5800+ students.

Before you book
Mentoring 1:1 isn't for everyone.
It's a fit if you have a concrete question or decision and you want an independent second opinion. It's not a fit if:
- → You're looking for a general intro to AI or team-wide training — for that I run company workshops.
- → You want me to recommend a specific vendor for a commission — I'm neither a vendor nor an affiliate. Vendor selection itself we'll happily discuss.
- → You need long-term implementation — for that you want partnership or transformation.
If you're not sure whether mentoring fits, drop me a line — I reply within 24 hours and tell you straight whether it's a fit.
FAQ
Common questions before booking
How does payment work? +
You book a slot through TidyCal and pay by card via Stripe at booking time. You get an invoice for your company (VAT registered or not).
What if I need to cancel or reschedule? +
Free reschedule or refund up to 24 hours before the call. After that the slot is yours — no-shows are non-refundable, but we can agree on a reschedule.
How should I prepare? +
I already have most of the context from the intake form. Before the call just re-open your main question and pin down what you want to walk away with. If your topic has code, a repo, or a dashboard, have it ready.
What if my topic shifts during the call? +
No problem. The form question is just an entry point — if we realise the real topic is somewhere else, we go there. The 55 minutes are yours.
Can we look at specific code or repos? +
Yes. Screen sharing is often faster than description. We can walk through a code review, hash out an architecture decision, or run your AI workflow live.
What happens to the recording? How long do you keep it? +
I share a private link only with you. By default I keep it for 90 days and then delete it. If you'd prefer a shorter retention, tell me before the call.
Do you sign NDAs? +
Standard practice, yes. Send me your template or we use mine. We sign electronically before the call.
What language do calls happen in? +
Czech or English, whichever you prefer. I speak both natively (5 years in Manchester).
How often can I book? +
Once for a single question is fine, or repeatedly — some clients come every 2–4 weeks as part of their own development, others only before specific milestones. Frequency is up to you.
One question. 55 minutes. A clearer decision.
Most people find on the call what they've been staring at on their desk for weeks. Sometimes it's a specific next step, sometimes confirmation you're on the right track, sometimes a warning you're on the wrong one. Either way, you leave with something in hand.
